Smith and Wesson M&P 9 Shield EZ 12437 Overview

The Smith and Wesson M&P 9 Shield EZ 12437 pairs a 3.68-inch 9mm barrel with two eight-round magazines in a polymer-frame handgun built around an easy-to-rack slide. A grip safety is fitted at the backstrap, and no manual thumb safety is included. The listed overall length is 6.8 inches, with a weight of 23.68 ounces.

Its single-action mechanism uses an internal hammer, leaving the rear of the slide free of an exposed hammer spur. Fixed iron sights provide a conventional alignment reference, while the textured frame gives the hand purchase around the safety. The S&W pistol's magazines include loading-assist tabs, adding a second practical handling feature alongside the slide design.

The Smith and Wesson M&P 9 Shield EZ measures 5.05 inches high and 1.04 inches wide, giving the grip a defined scale beneath the upper. The matching magazine pair preserves the same capacity in both supplied units. This pistol's backstrap control remains an important part of its identity, occupying the rear gripping surface while the sights and enclosed hammer sit above the polymer lower.
