Sellier and Bellot 38 Spl 148gr WC SB38B Overview

Sellier and Bellot 38 Special 148 grain wadcutter SB38B ammo uses a flat-front, full-diameter target bullet rather than a rounded lead or FMJ nose. The 148-grain wadcutter profile is a longstanding choice for revolver paper-target work, where clearly defined bullet holes are useful.

A wadcutter’s broad front face is designed to cut a more sharply outlined mark through paper, separating its purpose from hollow-point deformation. Sellier and Bellot rates this ammo at 699 fps. The modest factory rating accompanies a specialized target geometry, not a basis for claiming precision beyond any supplied accuracy testing.

For slow-fire practice or scoring paper targets, the defining feature of this ammo is the shape of the bullet itself. Fifty brass-cased rounds are supplied in the factory box, allowing an owner to establish a consistent target load with a 148-grain wadcutter. Its point of impact may differ from conventional 158-grain lead round-nose ammunition.
