Ruger Security 9 Compact 3818 Overview

The Ruger Security 9 Compact 3818 uses a 3.42-inch barrel and two 10-round magazines to establish a compact 9mm pistol with a 6.52-inch overall length. A listed weight of 21.9 ounces gives another useful measure of the package. The textured polymer frame keeps the grip compact while retaining Ruger's familiar safety and magazine controls.

A fixed front sight pairs with a drift-adjustable rear, placing windage correction at the rear of the sight picture. The slide rides on full-length rails in an internal aluminum chassis. The protected hammer remains enclosed within the handgun's rear profile, with the Secure Action trigger serving as the main external interface to the firing mechanism.

The Ruger Security 9 Compact includes a bladed trigger safety and a separate manual safety on the frame. Both supplied magazines share the same capacity, keeping the included equipment straightforward. The pistol measures 4.35 inches high and 1.02 inches wide, dimensions that help explain the abbreviated grip beneath the short slide and enclosed hammer profile.
