The cartridge's higher-pressure designation is an important part of its identity, not a detail to overlook when checking firearm compatibility.

A jacketed hollow point has a cavity designed to encourage expansion, but no handgun load can establish a particular penetration depth merely by having that shape. The pressure class also calls for more than a glance at bullet weight: pistol approval for +P loads should be checked first. This ammo serves a different purpose from ordinary 9mm training FMJ.

Before using it in a carry pistol, confirm that the firearm is approved for +P cartridges and that the JHP feeds and prints as expected. CorBon lists 1,350 fps for the 115-grain load and supplies 20 rounds per box. The defensive ammunition is identified by both bullet style and pressure marking.

CorBon 9mm Key Features

+P Pressure Designation: The higher-pressure loading calls for a 9mm pistol rated for +P ammunition.

115-Grain JHP: The jacketed hollow-point bullet has an expansion-oriented nose cavity.

Factory Velocity: CorBon lists a muzzle velocity of 1,350 fps.

https://www.sportingsupplygroup.com/products/corbon-9mm-plus-p-115-grain-jacketed-hollow-point-jhp-9115-20-rounds
