Hornady Subsonic 450 Bushmaster 395gr JHP 82247 Overview

Hornady Subsonic 450 Bushmaster 395 grain jacketed hollow point 82247 ammo pairs a heavy SUB-X projectile with the 450 Bushmaster rifle cartridge. Unlike Hornady’s subsonic handgun XTP offerings, this load uses the purpose-designed SUB-X bullet with a flexible insert in its hollow-point nose.

The SUB-X design combines a lead core, long jacket grooves and a Flex Tip insert intended to help the bullet open at low impact velocities. Hornady rates this ammunition at 1,050 fps. This is a rifle chambering rather than a conventional handgun cartridge, and firearm compatibility remains specific to 450 Bushmaster.

Subsonic rifle loads involve a different balance of velocity and bullet weight than conventional supersonic hunting loads. The 20-round package contains this 395-grain ammo for testing in an appropriately chambered firearm, including any planned suppressor configuration. Users should verify function and their applicable hunting rules rather than treating the Subsonic designation as a universal field-performance guarantee.
