DoubleTap Hunter 454 Casull 400gr HC 454C400HC Overview
DoubleTap Hunter 454 Casull 400 grain hard cast 454C400HC ammo uses a substantial 400-grain hard-cast bullet in the 454 Casull revolver cartridge. The projectile's solid construction puts it in a different design category from lighter jacketed hollow points, even though both may appear in hunting ammunition.
At this bullet weight, firearm suitability and point of impact deserve their own attention. The hard-cast bullet in this ammo has a solid nose rather than a JHP cavity; that construction alone does not establish a penetration depth.
DoubleTap publishes 1,400 fps for this 400-grain ammo. The package contains 20 hunting cartridges for evaluation in the intended 454 Casull revolver.
DoubleTap Hunter 454 Casull Key Features

- Non-Hollow-Point Design: The cast bullet has no expansion-oriented cavity.
- Factory Rating: DoubleTap lists 1,400 fps for its 400-grain hunting cartridge.
