Winchester Big Bore 45 Colt 250gr SJHP X45CBB Overview

Winchester Big Bore 45 Long Colt 250 grain semi jacketed hollow point X45CBB ammo uses a 250-grain semi-jacketed hollow point in the historic 45 Long Colt chambering. The Big Bore design brings a modern concave nose to a cartridge commonly associated with traditional lead revolver bullets. Its hunting application sets it apart from Winchester's 250-grain lead-flat-nose 45 Colt target offering.

The 45 Colt has existed through several eras of revolver design, so ammunition suitability should be judged against the actual firearm rather than its familiar name. Winchester's Big Bore projectile uses a concave cavity to govern the progression of expansion, with a partial jacket supporting the bullet. This specific 250-grain cartridge is rated at 845 fps.

The listed speed is substantially different from the faster Big Bore magnum products, which use different chamberings and must not be conflated with 45 Colt. Shooters comparing hunting bullets should retain the exact X45CBB identifier and the 250-grain specification. Winchester makes this brass-cased ammo in the United States and supplies 20 rounds per box.
