Hornady LEVERevolution 45 Colt 225gr FTX HP 92792 Overview

Hornady LEVERevolution 45 Long Colt 225 grain hollow point 92792 ammo uses a 225-grain FTX bullet in the established 45 Colt chambering. A flexible insert occupies the nose cavity, distinguishing the FTX design from an open hollow point and giving this hunting-oriented load a recognizable projectile profile.

Hornady developed the FTX concept around an elastomer tip that initiates bullet upset while providing a different nose geometry from exposed lead or an empty cavity. In this ammunition, the 225-grain weight and published 960-fps speed identify the 45 Colt configuration. Neither specification makes it interchangeable with higher-pressure specialty 45 Colt cartridges intended for particular modern revolvers.

Firearms chambered in 45 Colt range from antique-pattern designs to contemporary revolvers and lever guns, so approval for the exact loading matters. With 45 Colt firearms spanning antique patterns, contemporary revolvers and lever-action designs, pressure compatibility deserves particular attention. The 20-round box lets owners evaluate the LEVERevolution ammo in firearms approved for the exact loading.
