DoubleTap SnakeShot 45 Long Colt 220gr #9 Shot 45CSSS2 Overview

DoubleTap SnakeShot 45 Long Colt 220 grain No. 9 shotshell 45CSSS2 ammo brings a 220-grain charge of fine No. 9 pellets to the 45 Colt cartridge. The traditional revolver chambering houses a specialty shotshell here, not the single lead bullet familiar from ordinary 45 Colt target loads.

From a rifled barrel, the fine pellets in this ammo can form a pattern that changes rapidly with distance. The 220-grain charge makes this version distinctive, but the number on a payload label cannot predict how evenly a particular revolver will distribute the shot.

9 shotshell ammunition should be evaluated by actual close-range patterns, not by conventional single-bullet groups. DoubleTap lists 1,000 fps for the load and packages 20 rounds per box. The No.

DoubleTap SnakeShot 45 Long Colt Key Features

  • 220-Grain Shot Charge: A substantial 220-grain payload of pellets replaces the traditional solid 45 Colt bullet.
  • No. 9 Shot: The cartridge uses fine pellets suited to close-range patterning.
  • Specialty Pest Load: SnakeShot is intended for nearby pest control rather than ordinary revolver target work.
