PMC Bronze 45 ACP 230 grain full metal jacket 45A ammo follows the longstanding 230-grain hardball pattern used in 45 ACP pistols. Its jacketed, non-expanding bullet provides a conventional training configuration rather than the lighter 185-grain JHP available elsewhere in the Bronze line.
The heavy 230-grain weight has been associated with 45 ACP practice for generations, but it does not make all factory hardball cartridges identical. PMC lists this ammo at 830 fps. The rounded FMJ nose is intended for ordinary range repetition, not the controlled expansion expected of a hollow-point projectile.
For a 45 ACP pistol normally used with 230-grain ammunition, this load allows continued practice in a familiar weight class without consuming specialized defensive cartridges. The 50-round brass-case format supports that routine. Shooters can focus on consistency of sight picture and trigger operation while keeping the purpose of this conventional ball load clear.
