Magtech 454 Casull 260gr FMJ-FN 454B Overview

Magtech 454 Casull 260 grain full metal jacket flat nose 454B ammo provides a jacketed practice projectile for a high-pressure magnum revolver cartridge. Its 260-grain bullet has a flattened, non-expanding nose rather than the exposed soft point used in Magtech’s companion 454A hunting load.

Unlike ordinary 45 Colt cartridges, 454 Casull requires an appropriately chambered firearm. Magtech specifies 1,798 fps for the 454B, while its similarly weighted soft-point loading carries a different published speed. This ammunition is identified for range training, with bullet construction as the principal difference from the hunting alternative.

Because substantial revolver cartridges can behave differently with bullet changes, range evaluation should use the exact projectile intended for practice. Magtech boxes 20 rounds of this 260-grain ammo. The covered flat-point nose and manufacturer-specified velocity make it possible to identify the load without asserting unverified accuracy or terminal advantages.
