Aguila Ammunition 45 ACP 230 grain full metal jacket 1E452110 ammo follows the familiar hardball formula: a 230-grain jacketed bullet for target shooting. That traditional bullet weight has long been associated with 45 ACP pistols, from the 1911 to more recent service-size designs. Its FMJ construction keeps the load focused on practice rather than bullet expansion.
Four different 45 ACP pistols fired Aguila's 230-grain FMJ in a rested accuracy evaluation, producing five-shot groups around 2 inches at 50 feet. During extended shooting drills with the same load, no malfunctions attributable to the cartridges were reported. The results describe those particular pistols and shooting conditions, but they give this ammo more context than a velocity figure alone.
Aguila lists 830 fps at the muzzle for this ammunition. The cartridges are brass-cased, made in Mexico, and packaged in boxes of 50. Shooters who favor the classic 230-grain weight can compare their own groups and function checks with the reported range results rather than assuming every 45 ACP pistol will perform identically.
