G2 Research Telos 38 Special 105 grain fracturing copper hollow point G00618 ammo combines a light copper projectile with a +P-rated 38 Special cartridge. The hollow-point nose is engineered to fracture at impact, distinguishing this load from traditional lead semiwadcutters and conventional jacketed hollow points used in defensive revolvers.
The +P designation matters as much as the unusual bullet construction. A revolver chambered in 38 Special is not necessarily approved for higher-pressure +P ammunition, especially if it is an older design. G2 lists 1,170 fps for this specific configuration; that number does not establish the same velocity from a short-barreled revolver or guarantee how the copper nose will separate.
Changes in bullet weight and pressure class can affect how a compact 38 Special revolver behaves, so an ordinary 158-grain range load is not a complete substitute for evaluating this one. The key distinction is the combination of a fracturing-copper projectile and a pressure rating that requires explicit approval. A 20-round box provides the actual Telos ammo for a sight-regulation check once firearm compatibility has been established.
